Synergy Doldrums
This week has been absolutely dismal in the Comp Room. What is happening to Synergy? We can't blame the awful attendance on just Bahb & Queenie, because they took off to frolic in the desert. What has happened to.....um....everyone?
Last night Ivy had no one at his 9pm game, there was a dismal turnout at the Sizzler; the quickie barely got off the ground; and there hasn't been a late night game for a while. I'll confess to playing a 9pm game in another league because, at 8:58, I saw that Mike had no one yet registered. Are others doing the same thing? Is everyone so enamored with the new Fall season on television that tournament play is secondary? Is everyone off playing (shiver) Cribbage?
We all love Synergy, Im confident of that. I'm afraid it has become a lumbering old dinosaur. What our league needs is a little rejuvenation. How will this happen? Damned if I know, but I'm positive it's worth fighting for.
I'm also positive I do not want any more nights like last night. Even the 6 people who played in the Sizzler seemed very low energy. I kept thinking "I see dead people....". And I was one of them, a droopy pepper.
Reanimation! Rejuvenation! Celebration! Yeah, that's the ticket. Now, how do we start?

Aw, it is so sad to me that the days of 12-18 people in the lobby all yakking and having fun are now few and far between in the comp room :(
I wish I had more time to play and hang out. I wish I had the time to TD. To me, that is what seems to be the problem recently; we've lost SO many TD's! Thankfully, a few great people (to name a few: ivy, Q, holly) have really picked up the slack left by the others (me being one of them!)
Thank God for those who still fill our calendar with tourneys! If it weren't for you, I don't know where we'd be as a league.
I keep saying I'll try and make Drunk OX and then can't... I keep saying to myself that I'll be here at night more, then I'm not able to :( I just honestly don't have the time. The only time I seem to have to play is for a few hours in the afternoon (between work and class or between work and picking up Matthew from school)
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you, Holly, and the other TD's who still take the time to host tourneys for all of us! And, of course, thank you to cait for all of her tireless efforts behind the scenes as well! You all are what is keeping the league alive!
I hope everyone continues to play here as much as they can and maybe now that the colder weather is upon us, people will be indoors more and looking for games!
Boy, when we do get a crowd, it sometimes seems just like the old days, so I know the old Synergy magic still exists; it just doesn't surface quite as often as it used to.
Once again, I'm going to try my hardest to make one of those Saturday night drunken parties that sound so fun...
LONG LIVE SYNERGY!!!!!!!!!!! (how's that for a little drama? hehe)
